AKWENO RESEARCH
Australian Property Investor Research
Monthly insights into where Australian property investors are looking, the rental yields they are assessing and how buyer behaviour is changing
Property investors leave behind useful signals long before they buy.
Each month, Akweno analyses anonymised activity from Australian investors using our property investment calculators to understand what they are researching, where they are looking and the investment returns they are assessing.
Our Australian Property Investor Research series turns those signals into practical insights about investor behaviour.
The research focuses on real investment research activity rather than surveys of investor intentions.
What we're tracking
Our monthly research looks at several indicators of Australian property investor interest and behaviour.
Where investors are researching
Track the share of Australian property research occurring across each state and territory to identify where investor attention is concentrated.
Major cities vs regional Australia
Examine the proportion of investor research focused on major metropolitan markets compared with regional locations, including differences between states.
Rental yields being assessed
Compare the gross rental yields being investigated by prospective buyers with those entered by existing property owners.
As the Akweno dataset grows, future reports may introduce additional measures of investor behaviour and market interest.
Research based on what investors actually do
Most property market research measures prices, transactions or what investors say they intend to do.
Akweno's research provides a different perspective.
Our data is generated when property investors actively assess potential investments, compare rental yields and explore property markets using Akweno's calculators.
That means the dataset can provide an early view into the locations, returns and investment opportunities currently attracting investor attention.

About the research
Akweno's Australian Property Investor Research is based on anonymised interactions with Akweno's Australian property investment calculators.
Before analysis, the dataset is cleaned to remove activity that is not considered representative of genuine property investment research, including invalid inputs, obvious testing behaviour and selected low-confidence interactions.
The reports analyse aggregated behavioural data only. Individual users or properties are not identified in published research.
Results should be interpreted as an indicator of activity within the Akweno research dataset rather than a representation of every Australian property investor or every property transaction.
